Big Lottery Fund Award

We have just been awarded a grant by the Big Lottery Fund. This will help towards improvements to the clubhouse. It is intended to make the club more accessible to disabled people with improvements to access to the club and also with the installation of a disable toilet. The main clubroom floor will be replaced with a concrete floor which will help alleviate damp, along with this the air circulation will be improved to minimise condensation. The club room will also be made available to the community to hire for small events on days that we are not using it. Well done to all those involved in the bidding process.

Cleethorpes Camera Club's latest film, "The Invitation", has won the Inter Club competition held at Walkington near Beverley. The event was well attended by club members, who witnessed the beating East Yorkshire Video Club into second place and Scunthorpe Movie Makers third. The film was well received by the judges and they commented on how well it was made, they liked the soundtrack which added to the mood of the film and they thought it was well directed, and very professional. Well done to all involved, especially Margaret for writing such a good script, Iris, Steve, Robyn and Euan for brilliant acting, and ALL the extras from the club who gave up their time. Director Peter Warrington received the trophy from the Judges.

The title for next years film was decided by an audience vote, "A Word in your Ear". So it's back to the drawing board, with Margaret Schlesinger thinking about ideas for the script, before filming starts in the New Year.

Austin Mitchell 1 Grimsby MP Austin Mitchell visited the clubs Digital Stills Group, to show some of his photgraphic work. Austin a self proclaimed "Happy Snapper" showed some photographs of old and present day Parliament scenes, and talked of his interest in photography from his childhood days. The meeting was well attended, and members found the talk very interesting and entertaining, and an insite to the workings of Parliament, with some very good candid shots of MP's in the House of Commons, and the Houses of Parliament.
